Catchy, well crafted power pop with an edge
The Saturday Ship is the power pop project of Saint Augustine, FL, musician Ken McAnlis. Musically grounded in the stylings of pop/rock groups of the 1960s, such as the Beach Boys, the Beatles, The Saturday Ship also incorporates elements of edgier bands such as the Ramones, the Dead Boys, and alternative guitar pop bands, e.g. Weezer, and Teenage Fanclub. Ken says "I like to keep the structures tight, the melodies melodic, and the feel generally upbeat and energetic."
